Ohio Children’s Alliance Receives Grant for Trauma-Informed Trainings

Updated: Mar 23, 2020

$5,000 grant from the CareSource Foundation will fund additional 2-day training programs.

Last week we received a $5,000 grant from the CareSource Foundation to help fund expanded trainings in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavior Therapy with a certified trainer through the trademarked TF-CBT program. The CareSource Foundation provides grants to nonprofits who are working to eliminate poverty, provide services to low and moderate-income families, build healthier communities and develop innovative approaches to address significant social issues.

With grant support, we will be able to deliver two additional 2-day training programs. Our training program in TF-CBT prepares clinicians with the competencies necessary to identify and respond to trauma in lives of their clients impacted by the opiate crisis. TF-CBT, a clearinghouse-approved IV-E reimbursable service under FFPSA, is infused in various program types, from foster care, to family reunification, to intensive home-based treatment, to general outpatient services. Many individuals that complete our TF-CBT trainings go on to pursue certification from the organization that own the TF-CBT model. Our trainings provide the necessary pre-requisite training for such certification. We are grateful to the CareSource Foundation for funding this important work.
