Pressley Ridge, a leading social impact organization, recently announced that its Treatment Foster Care Pre-Service Training Curriculum received an "evidence-based" designation through the California Evidence-Based Clearinghouse for Child Welfare.
The California Evidence-Based Clearinghouse (CEBC) is a key tool for identifying, selecting, and implementing evidence-based child welfare practices that will improve child safety, increase permanency, increase family and community stability, and promote child and family well-being.
This distinction recognizes the transformative impact that Pressley Ridge's training has on the youth in their care. In fact, their Parent Pre-Service training is now the only evidence-based Pre-Service developed specifically for treatment parents. More than 150 foster care agencies have been trained in this competency-based curriculum, which focuses on:
Increasing knowledge, empathy, and insight regarding treatment foster care, child development, trauma-informed care, and effective behavior management techniques
Improving parenting skills for working with youth with behavioral and emotional issues
Improving ability and commitment to succeed in their professional role as a treatment foster care parent
